Volunteers Needed

Thank you for taking the time to visit our site and for your interest in volunteering!

Pediatric brain tumors kill more children in this country than any other disease. The Ride for Kids® raises money for biomedical research to find a cure.

The Baltimore/Washington Ride for Kids® Task Force is looking for volunteers to help make our Motorcycle Ride on Sunday, September 21st 2008 a huge success. Our goal in 2008 is to raise $223,500 or more, and YOU can help.

Volunteers are needed in many different areas to help us handle the 700-1000 motorcyclists who attend the Baltimore-Washington Ride for Kids. You don't have to be a motorcycle rider to volunteer.

Parking – Assist with directing traffic. You must have a motorcycle license to volunteer in this area.

Registration – You can choose one of several ways to help with registering riders: 1) AMA Greeters (welcome riders to event, and assist them with filling out registration forms), 2) Dealer and Club Registration (riders sign up their favorite clubs and dealers), 3) General Ride Registration and Collection of Donations (review forms, count money and provide into to riders - must be 21 years of age to do General Ride Registration).

Setting up End-point/Cleaning up End-point – Assist with setting up the site before the event and/or cleaning up following the event

Premium Tents – Distribute prizes to those who bring eligible donations

The time committment is as follows:

Day of Ride: Sunday, September 21st : 6:30 am until 1:30 pm, OR 6:30 am to 10:30 am if you're only able to help with registration and unable to stay for the Ride and lunch at the "Celebration of Life."

Pediatric brain tumors kill more children in this country than any other disease. Fifty years ago, the leading killer of children was polio. Medical research found a vaccine and a cure. Twenty years ago, the leading killer of children was leukemia (less than 4% survived). Medical research funded largely by Danny Thomas and the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital found a cure (today about 84% survive). Help us find a cure for pediatric brain tumors.

Thank you so much in advance for your help in the past and your help in the future. I look forward to hearing from you.
